# Directions:

01 - Set oven to 350°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
02 - Using a sharp bread knife, cut the sourdough loaf in a criss-cross pattern, creating deep channels while leaving the base intact.
03 - In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chives, basil, salt, and black pepper until thoroughly blended.
04 - Carefully pry apart the bread sections and spread the garlic herb butter mixture evenly throughout all cuts using a butter knife or spoon.
05 - Distribute mozzarella, cheddar, and parmesan generously into the sliced openings for optimal coverage and even melt.
06 - Place prepared loaf on baking tray, loosely cover with aluminum foil, and bake for 15 minutes.
07 - Remove foil and continue baking for 8 to 10 minutes until cheeses are fully melted, bubbly, and bread edges are golden and crisp.
08 - Transfer loaf to a serving board and present immediately for guests to share by pulling apart individual pieces.

# Chef Secrets:

01 -
  • Perfect for sharing at parties or cozy nights in
  • Requires only easy prep and basic pantry or fridge staples
  • Customizable with your favorite cheeses or add-ins
  • Quick total time under an hour from start to finish
02 -
  • This loaf is high in calcium thanks to three forms of cheese
  • Freezes beautifully when tightly wrapped for future snack emergencies
  • Makes a fun project for kids to help assemble and stuff
  • Of all the ingredients I cannot go without hand-chopping the fresh herbs The scent always reminds me of my grandmother’s kitchen where we would stash extra parsley in the back garden and use it by the handful just like this My uncle once brought this bread to a picnic and now it is the number one dish requested at every family reunion
03 -
  • Make sure the butter is truly softened It will be much easier to spread into every nook and cranny
  • Chop the herbs fine so their flavor infuses the bread instead of clumping
  • Stuff cheese into every crack for maximum gooey pull When in doubt add more cheese than you think you will need
