# Components:

01 - 2 black tea bags or 2 teaspoons loose leaf black tea
02 - 2 cups boiling water

03 - 1 ripe mango, peeled and diced, or 1 cup frozen mango cubes

05 - 2 tablespoons honey or to taste
06 - Ice cubes as needed
07 - Fresh mango slices for garnish, optional

# Directions:

01 - Place tea bags in a large pitcher and pour 2 cups of boiling water. Steep for 10 minutes, then remove the tea bags.
02 - In a saucepan, combine diced mango and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 10 minutes while mashing the mango to create a smooth puree.
03 - Strain the mango mixture through a fine mesh sieve into the pitcher with the brewed tea.
04 - Stir honey into the combined mixture until fully dissolved.
05 - Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
06 - Pour into glasses filled with ice cubes and garnish with fresh mango slices if desired.

# Chef Secrets:

01 -
  • It tastes like you spent hours on it, but honestly takes less time than a coffee run.
  • Naturally sweet from mango means you control the sugar, unlike those bottled versions sitting on supermarket shelves.
  • Works for casual weeknight drinking or impressing guests without any fuss.
02 -
  • Don't skip straining the mango—a fine mesh sieve makes the difference between silky-smooth and grainy, and nobody wants grainy iced tea.
  • Honey won't dissolve well in cold liquid, which is why adding it while the tea is still warm is non-negotiable and worth remembering for future recipes too.
03 -
  • Brew your tea and prepare mango at the same time rather than sequentially—you'll save 10 minutes and the kitchen stays cooler.
  • If your mango isn't ripe enough, you can still use it, but add an extra tablespoon of honey to compensate for the lack of natural sweetness.
