Horchata Espresso Cloud Iced (Print)

Cinnamon-infused horchata meets bold espresso, topped with frothy milk for a creamy iced drink.

# Components:

→ Horchata Base

01 - 1 cup unsweetened rice milk or traditional horchata
02 - 1/2 cup almond milk or whole milk
03 - 2 tablespoons sugar or agave syrup
04 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
05 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Espresso

06 - 2 shots freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee (about 2 fluid ounces total)

→ Milk Cloud

07 - 1/2 cup cold milk (whole, oat, or almond)

→ Garnish

08 - Cinnamon powder (optional)

# Directions:

01 - Combine rice milk, almond milk, sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract in a small pitcher. Stir thoroughly until the sugar dissolves completely.
02 - Fill two glasses halfway with ice cubes and divide the horchata mixture evenly between them.
03 - Brew two shots of espresso. Gently pour one shot over the back of a spoon into each glass to achieve a layered presentation.
04 - Froth the cold milk using a milk frother or vigorously shake in a sealed jar until thick and foamy.
05 - Generously spoon the milk foam onto the surface of each drink.
06 - Lightly dust the top with cinnamon powder if desired. Serve immediately with a straw or spoon.

# Chef Secrets:

01 -
  • The chilled horchata and bold espresso take iced coffee to a dreamy, cinnamon-kissed new level.
  • When you serve it, friends always ask how you made it taste this smooth and layered.
02 -
  • If your sugar clumps at the bottom, the drink loses its magic—the key is to stir until every grain disappears.
  • Pouring espresso slowly over a spoon isn’t just a trick for looks—it keeps the flavors distinct and vivid.
03 -
  • For the frothiest milk cloud, use cold milk and give it extra shakes or whirls; warm milk won’t hold up as well.
  • A pinch of salt in the horchata mixture amplifies the flavors just enough without making it taste salty.
